Where Can I Serve?

God has blessed each person with gifts and talents to serve Him by serving others. Please speak with Pastor Austin about opportunities to serve. We look forward to serving God with you!

ServingService Opportunities:

AltarSet Up and Tear down:

Do you take joy in and pride yourself on having things prepared and ready? Do you love when everything is in its place and looks just right? Maybe you would like to be part of our set-up team? The set-up team arrives at church before the service starts and is responsible for preparing for the service. They prepare the altar, the cross, linens, and communion. The altar serves an important role in our service and preparing it requires an aesthetic eye and love for preparing God's table.

GreeterUsher/Greeter:

Are you outgoing and friendly? Do you make others feel welcome? The usher/greeter team could be a great place for you to serve! Ushers/greeters at Grace Fellowship fill an important role. They are involved in welcoming guests, passing out bulletins and Bibles, helping visitors, answering questions, collecting the offering, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The usher team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life.

praise team2Praise Team:

Do you love to sing or play an instrument? Does music make you feel closer to our Lord? Do you enjoy leading others to worship God? Have you considered using your talents and gifts to glorify God? The praise team would love for you to join them! The praise team leads the worship part of our service each week. They sing a variety of contemporary and traditional songs based on the word of God and are intended to give praise to Him.

    sound boardSound and Technology:

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of Grace Fellowship. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for Kingdom purposes. Using these technologies not only enhances the worship experience for our members and visitors, but allows us to reach out to new members and especially our youth. These technologies are very important in maintaining and growing our church body.

Creating the Visual Content: Are you artistic? Do you love working with computers? Does putting a picture with words or songs come naturally to you? You would be a great addition to our Technology team. Each week one person from the team creates the presentation for our worship service. Pastor Austin and our Music Director, Israel, will provide you with the theme, songs, videos and order of worship. The design of the slides and overall look of the service would be up to you!

Executing the Presentation: Are you attentive to the visual content during the service? Would you like to be in charge of keeping things flowing smoothly? Each week someone is in control of the presentation during the service. This person is responsible for uploading the sermon media from Pastor Austin and advancing the presentation during the service. The presentation will already be created so this person is responsible for running the technology component of the service.

Controlling the Sound Board: Do you have an ear for music? Can you tell when a sound is clear and pleasing or needs adjustments? Have you worked with a sound board before? Helping to run the sound board may be a good place to share your gifts. The sound board volunteer works with Israel, our music director, to make sure the Praise Team has a clear and pleasing sound, that the Pastor is heard clearly, and any videos or other audio are crisp and dialed in.

Social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc) and Website: Are you an avid Facebook reader and poster? Do you enjoy Tweeting? Would you be interested in using social media to promote and keep people informed about our church? This may be an area you would like to volunteer. Each week we update our Facebook page and website. We are always looking for tech savvy individuals to help promote Grace Fellowship!

BibleBible Reader: Have you been given the gift of being comfortable reading out loud in front of people? Do you enjoy sharing the word of God? Would you like to share your gift with others? Our Bible readers read passages out loud for the congregation during the service. Pastor Austin will provide you with the passages a few days before the service so you can practice beforehand.    prayPrayer Warriors:

Have you seen how powerful prayer can be in your life and the lives of other? Does praying out loud in front of people come easily to you? Do you enjoy being able to offer up prayers for others? You may consider sharing your gift with our congregation. Prayer cannot be overestimated! We have been given the gift of being able to speak directly to God through our prayers. Prayer moves the hand of God. Each Sunday, during the morning service, a volunteer prays in front of the congregation for prayer requests.

Throughout the week, volunteers to our Prayer Warriors Team pray for the pastor, Grace Fellowship, special requests and more!

  nursery2Nursery and Childcare:

Do you love children? Do you enjoy watching young children play? We have a hired nursery attendant who is in our Nursery each week to take care of our children from preschool age down. If you are interested in volunteering to helping our attendant please let Pastor Austin know.

childrens churchChildren's Church:

Do you love sharing God's word with children? Would you like to help provide our youth with lessons that are aligned to the sermon? Grace Fellowship holds a children's church service in conjunction with and during the adult sermon time. This special time gives kids more opportunity for interaction and learning in a context and manner that may be better suited to their age and learning styles. Our friendly children's church volunteers have an endless stream of creativity ranging from puppet shows, to games, to object lessons and more. Please consider this important ministry!

take them a mealMeals ministry:
Do you love to cook a great meal to share with others? Then our Meals Ministry team is a great place for you to serve! Sometimes life can be challenging for us all: a family member gets sick, you need to have surgery, the second baby is on the way!! We've all been there, but the Meals Ministry team steps in to make the load a little lighter by bringing meals when the need arises. Our volunteers will be able to sign up for meal preparation and delivery at www.takethemameal.com once the need has been verified and entered by the coordinator. To become part of this wonderful giving ministry OR if you want to inform us of a need for a meal ministry please contact Pastor Austin.
leadershipLeadership team: Has God given you the gift of clarity, discernment, and ability to lead others? Are you able to come up with ideas for how to make our church better? Would you like to serve by being on our church council? Our church council is responsible for leading our church in the right direction. They make important decisions and guide us to do the will of God in and around our church. The congregation votes at a congregational meeting before the council members are inducted. If you are interested in serving this way, contact Pastor Austin.     VBSVBS Volunteer: Do you love sharing Jesus and the word of God with children? We will be looking for a lot volunteers to help with our Vacation Bible School program this summer. We will need a variety of types of volunteers. We will be posting more details as summer gets closer.
